Vision Statement: ACS is the leader in promoting and supporting American cheese.

    Committed to physical and financial methods that insure the ability to survive and thrive at being self-sufficient in a community with a common focus.

Mission Statement: ACS provides American cheesemakers with educational resources and networking opportunities and encourages the highest standards of cheesemaking.

Membership in ACS is constantly growing, with memberships available at the Associate, Individual, Small Business and Corporate levels. ACS members identify themselves according to the following professional demographic:

  • 33% cheesemakers/buttermakers
  • 16% distributors/brokers
  • 20% retailers
  • 7% academic/technical affiliates
  • 5% writers/authors or communications specialists
  • 2% restaurant/foodservice specialists, such as chefs
  • 5% suppliers/dairies
  • 12% enthusiasts, who are mainly consumers
