Scholarships

    The 2013 Conference Scholarship application period is now closed.

    Each year, the American Cheese Society, in conjunction with the American Cheese Education Foundation and the John Crompton Memorial Scholarship Fund, awards full and partial scholarships to cheesemakers, retailers, students, and local chefs to attend the Annual ACS Conference and Competition.

    Full Scholarship Recipients receive four nights’ hotel accommodation in Madison, up to $500 toward travel expenses (reimbursed upon submission of a post-conference essay), and a complimentary conference registration.  Partial Scholarship Recipients receive a complimentary conference registration.

    2013 scholarship recipients will be notified by Friday, May 3, 2013.  Please contact Jana Hemphill at jhemphill@cheesesociety.org or 720-328-2788 with any questions.

    Cheesemaker Scholarship

    Cheesemaker Scholarship applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • Hold a 2013 ACS membership
    • Demonstrate financial need
    • Have never attended an ACS conference

     

    Student Scholarship

    Student Scholarship applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • Demonstrate financial need
    • Be a currently enrolled student
    • Hold a 2013 ACS membership
    • Have never attended an ACS conference

     

    Chef Scholarship

    Chef Scholarship applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • Be located in Madison, WI, or in the surrounding areas of Wisconsin
    • Have never attended an ACS Conference

     

    John Crompton Memorial Scholarship

    John Crompton Memorial Scholarship applicants must meet the following requirements:

    • Demonstrate financial need
    • Must be a current member of the specialty food retail trade, exhibiting enthusiasm and dedication to the cheese industry
    • Desire to further their education in the field
