Since 2010, Michelle Lee has served as the American Cheese Society’s Programs & Operations Director. In this role, she oversees the annual ACS Judging & Competition and leads the Education Committee in developing educational content for the ACS Conference. After graduating with a degree in English from the University of Northern Colorado, Michelle moved to Denver, CO where she worked at a high-end landscaping firm. While she enjoyed her work as an Office Manager, she quickly realized she wanted to find more meaning in her career. In 1999, Michelle joined the Rocky Mountain Insurance Information Association as the Operations Manager, which sparked her passion for non-profit organizations. In 2002, Michelle moved to the East Coast and eventually returned to the green industry to serve as the Executive Director of the New Jersey Turfgrass Association. She served as Secretary on the Board of Directors for the New Jersey Turfgrass Foundation Board of Trustees, as well as a Director on the New Jersey Green Industry Council and the Alliance for Water Conservation Boards. Prior to joining ACS, Michelle owned and operated a small manufacturing business with her family in northern Colorado. She successfully launched ‘TINI in a Bottle, an all-natural cocktail mix, from development to market. From this experience, she has garnered a tremendous appreciation for the work and dedication of ACS’ cheesemaker members and understands the connection to their products. When she is not working on ACS business, Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband and son.
