Bio: Michele Haram is a lifetime cheese enthusiast and member of the inaugural class of American Cheese Society Certified Cheese Professionals®. Michele has been working with cheese for over 12 years as a retailer, educator, and representative. Today, she is the National Sales Director for Vermont Creamery. A dedicated ACS Conference volunteer for 11 years, Michele served on the Judging & Competition Committee and has co-chaired the Festival of Cheese for the past 4 years. She serves on the board of Les Dames d’Escoffier in Austin, Texas, and is proud to be a Garde & Jure member of the Guilde Internationale Des Fromagers. She pinches herself every day because her job is to travel the country extolling the virtues of artisan cheese, the value of knowing your producer, and of course, the cuteness of baby goats.
Statement of Intent: I love cheese. Of course, everyone in this organization loves cheese. We are all ambassadors of cheese wherever we go. ACS has been important to me—volunteering for more than a decade has given me endless opportunities to befriend many cheese folks and opened new paths for me. It has been my mission to bring value to our volunteers by shaping meaningful experiences for them. I want to help provide additional meaningful experiences for our general membership. By expanding access to our valuable networking and educational resources, ACS will continue to flourish as the hub of the cheese community. I support finding new ways to build community and deliver education to members beyond the Annual Conference. I would like to help create a more accessible ACS through regional community-building and educational activities. So sure, I love cheese, but I also believe in expanding the value ACS brings to cheese people.
