2016 Official Conference Cheesemonger
Arielle Neher is currently the Cheese Training Specialist at Lomar Distributing, Inc., a Hy-Vee specialty food subsidiary. Arielle graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, IA and received her Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts from DePaul University in Chicago, IL before entering the cheese industry via Whole Foods Market in 2012. There, her interest in cheese and her motivation for career advancement spiked. Now at Lomar Distributing, Arielle oversees the product selection, merchandising, and training of employees in all new and remodeled Hy-Vee cheese departments across an eight state territory. In 2015, she earned the prestigious title of Certified Cheese Professional® from the American Cheese Society. When she is not researching, promoting, and eating cheese Arielle exhibits her creativity by playing viola in a community orchestra and dabbling in various fine art media. She currently resides in Des Moines, IA but travels throughout the Midwest listening to NPR and frequenting Vietnamese restaurants. Arielle is honored to represent the Midwest and the great city of Des Moines as an Official Conference Cheesemonger for Cheese in the Heartland. She is looking forward to seeing many familiar rinds, pastes, and faces and to meeting many new ones.
