Bio: In 1999, while teaching classes on cheese appreciation, Lynne first glimpsed the renaissance in artisan cheesemaking taking place across the US. It was love at first bite. She signed on as the first Cheese Educator for the California Milk Advisory Board, enlightening food writers and chefs from New York to New Mexico, appearing on TV and radio as national spokesperson. In 2007 she founded Butter Communications specializing in educational programs, marketing and public relations for artisan cheesemakers and specialty food clients. She served as founding president of the California Artisan Cheese Guild and helped structure it to unite and bring advanced education to the burgeoning community of California cheesemakers. She co-founded California’s Artisan Cheese Festival, serving as director for 5 years, drawing thousands of consumers from 27 states to discover and support US artisan cheesemaking. Currently, she directs marketing and PR for two pioneering cheese companies, Laura Chenel’s Chèvre and Marin French Cheese.
