Kelly fell in love with cheese while living and working in France. Upon her return to the States she realized that she really wanted to try and make a career involving cheese. She found a job as a cheesemonger in the Central Market cheese shop in Austin, TX, where she learned to work with and care for over 700 cheeses.
In 2008, Kelly was awarded the John Crompton Memorial Scholarship and attended her first American Cheese Society Conference in Chicago. She volunteered to help receive and organize the cheeses for the Judging & Competition portion of the conference. The next year, she was promoted to head of triage for the conference in Austin and continued in that position for the conference in Seattle.
In 2010, John and Kendall Antonelli hired Kelly to help them open Antonelli’s Cheese Shop where she is currently Shop Manager. Kelly is honored to be selected as the Official Cheesemonger of the American Cheese Society Conference in Montréal and looks forward to being involved with making this a great conference for everyone!
