The Position

We seek a cheese production expert.  This person will make improvements to an already good production and quality process.   Reporting to the Plant Manager, this Mexican cheese subject matter expert with consult and lead the further development of the successful line of cheese products manufactured today from our Omaha plant. 

Description

The Mexican Cheese Manager:

• Is the “palate” of the plant for Mexican cheeses, constantly testing and ensuring consistency of taste, texture and quality.
• Maintains existing production volume and makes proposals for volume increases with the highest quality delivery
• Works closely with the sales organization to respond to volume commitments.
• Is responsible for the regulatory compliance of the Mexican cheese line.
• Creates new production processes that increase efficiency and plant through-put, decreases waste, and uphold quality of the Mexican cheese lines.
• Prepares weekly, monthly and on-demand reporting for management review of the Mexican cheese products. 
• Works cooperatively with marketing/brand management for innovation and future product planning and testing.
• Maintains a high degree of competitive awareness, knowing the new offerings and trends for Mexican cheese products for the US market.

Skills, Knowledge and  Experience

• Bachelor's degree in agricultural sciences or related field is preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of successful Mexican cheese making experience  
• Experience in volume cheese production, preferably in a US plant
• Spanish speaking highly preferred

·         Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team.

Base salary paid bi-weekly

Consultant needed to assist in helping to open a small artisanal cheese store in hometown Long Island, NY.  Need as start-up expert for approximately 3-6 months with consultant fees paid on additional as needed basis.  Please contact if interested.
