Bio: Like many fellow caseophiles, Amanda Parker fell in love with cheese by accident. After stints in the world of food-related media, she found her way to Murray’s Cheese in 2008 and spent several years in retail management at the New York flagship store. In 2010, Amanda was tapped to spread her love of cheese nationwide as part of Murray’s partnership with Kroger, the nation’s largest supermarket chain, and home to nearly 300 Murray’s Cheese shops in 25 states. Most recently, she has worked as Murray’s Vice President of Business Development, focused on finding new ways to introduce more people to great cheese.
Statement of Intent: The cheese industry is rapidly changing, facing new challenges and new opportunities for growth. Our community is made up of smart, passionate individuals, united towards a common goal: sharing American cheese with the world. As a member of the ACS Board of Directors, I would focus on innovation within our own world, building on the foundation of the Certified Cheese Professional program. By creating new ways to bring value to that experience, we can better connect it to the needs of our community and the public at large. We have made great strides in capturing our collective knowledge, but I would like to continue to improve how we find an ideal intersection between education and business.
